Nicola Van Sype Map (1583)

The caption beneath and to the left of Drake's Medallion  reads;  

“Map seen and corrected by the aforesaid Sir Drake.”

The Van Sype map was probably published at Antwerp is thought to be one of the three derivatives from the Queen’s map, otherwise known as the Whitehall map Drake had presented to the Queen; now presumed lost.
